Edo first opened in a double wide trailer off of Highway 72 in Madison behind a gas station. you could get pickled eggs and pigs feet in the gas station and raw fish and seaweed at Edo--don't know which people thought was weirder. Even though it was a trailer, you never felt like it was since the owner had tatami rooms, gardens, etc. The new place is a very nice large restaurant. I took a friend of mine from Boston there who was leary of sushi in Alabama but after we got there he was very happy and said it was some of the best sushi he has had. It is a classic place, with a wonderful, friendly staff.

It's a great place to eat fresh seafood. I would highly reccomend their octopus and their udon! They have a great eye for Octopus.I also reccomend their green tea. They have three ususual and extremely delicious flavors of ice cream. They have Mango, Green Tea, and Red Bean. The red bean tastes similar to strawberry (with more protein!). I love this place. If you can, reserve a spot at their beautiful and relaxing tatami room.
